Guidelines for Acceptance

Age: Adults 16+

Gender: Male and Female

Treatment: Drug Addictions, Alcohol Addictions and other Substance Abuse issues

Medical: A thorough History and Physical examination will be completed upon arrival by our medical staff. If you have had a Physical examination within the last 30 days, please provide a copy for our Admission department.

Emotional: Any prior psychological treatment information should be provided if there is any concern that it might interfere with an individual’s ability to be treated for chemical dependency. As much as possible, mental and emotional disorders should be stable prior to admission.

Physical: An individual will be expected to actively participate in all drug and alcohol addiction treatment programs and should be able to function without major limitations.
Spiritual: We believe that recovery involves spiritual healing and ask that all individuals seeking addiction treatment at breathing space Thailand be open to exploring this aspect of their lives.

Prior Treatment: Knowledge about and availability of prior treatment records and information will be beneficial to the staff prior to treating each individual. Appropriate requests for Release of Information can be provided by the staff team.

Exclusionary Criteria

1. Physical limitations which limit the individual’s ability to participate fully in our drug treatment program.
2. Severe psychiatric disorders in need of acute hospitalization.
3. Severe sexual disorders.
4. Chronic aggressive behavior incompatible with a group living environment.
5. Individuals must have an understanding of the English language to fully benefit from the program.

Rates

The Breathing Space Thailand continuum of care treatment program is designed for a minimum 30-day length of stay. Additional primary and continuing care treatment is available as needed. 90 days is the recommended length of stay as this will enable clients to have a good foundation in recovery; there is no quick fix to recovery.

The rates for treatment include items the resident will need during his/her treatment, including clothing and equipment necessary to participate in the program. For a complete list of items to bring, please go to our Things to bring page. Additional costs and expenses that are the responsibility of the resident include additional medical or laboratory work that isn’t related to the addiction and incidentals. A deposit for 30 days is due upon admission. Any other arrangements will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Prior to admission, please review our Pre-Arrival Checklist.

Accreditation and License

Breathing Space Thailand is an accredited member of the EATA. All staff who work at Breathing Space Thailand are members of professional bodies and are licensed to practice in Thailand
