Breathing Space Thailand Client Testimonials

I was looking for an addictions rehabilitation center in Thailand and I came across Breathing Space Thailand. I saw their website and got a real good feeling from the program they offer. I have been to many treatment facilities around the world, including some very well known ones but when I saw the living environment that Breathing Space Thailand were offering I couldn’t believe it!

I sent an email to Breathing Space Thailand team and within an hour I’d received a reply. After talking to one of the team on the phone, I felt that this was the place for me. That night I booked a flight for the following day and I enrolled on the 28 day program. My flight was tiring, after flying in from the US, long haul from LA and I was feeling really beat up.

Once I’d arrived at Breathing Space Thailand I was immediately presented with the beauty of the place where I was due to do treatment – I couldn’t believe it, so beautiful and secluded! I then got to enjoy a massage, a steam and a Jacuzzi at the spa within the Breathing Space Thailand resort. I felt a million dollars better than when I arrived. My anxiety levels had dropped and my fear was beginning to fade, I felt very relaxed and comfortable!

That night I sat down for dinner with the 4 other clients who were already there. The food was awesome, real genuine Thai food (thank you very much Chef, you’re da bomb)! During the 28 days I began to understand my addiction and find some real solid solutions to it. They taught me how to manage my triggers and cravings and how to use relapse prevention and coping strategies in my everyday life.

This really helped to boost my confidence and it showed me that there is a way forwards, beyond the living hell of addiction that my life had become. I realised that I was the cause of my own problems and by reading my life story that became very clear to me and that my patterns of behavior had always been with me – even before I started using drugs!

I really enjoyed doing the therapeutic work in the mornings and in the afternoons I would work out with my personal fitness trainer who worked out a real neat fitness plan for me. I also really enjoyed the Tai Chi and Yoga and these activities are something I’ve continued to do since I completed the program.

I’m now 3 months clean and with the on-going support of the therapist that Breathing Space Thailand organised for me I am continuing my journey of self-development.

I would very much like to thank everyone at Breathing Space Thailand for their support, their honesty, understanding and professionalism. Also, their discretion was very much appreciated!

When I turned to Breathing Space Thailand for help it was after spending the previous 5 years trying to manage my addiction by myself. I was very attracted to the program at Breathing Space Thailand due to the fact that there is a maximum of only 5 people at any one time. Also, I’d never come across an addictions treatment center that has its own spa. Also, they tailored an individualized program for me, which was something that I really felt I needed in my treatment. I liked the fact that they treated me like a human being and didn’t label me as an ‘addict’ but rather someone who had attempted to find a way of coping with life by using drugs.

I spent a total of 6 weeks at Breathing Space Thailand and I am amazed to reflect back on the achievements I was able to make for myself during that time. I was the shy girl that would isolate from people and my self esteem had taken a beating. During my stay I found ways to have a new, healthy belief in myself and I learnt to regain control of my life.

This was my first time in treatment but the experience was very different from anything I ever imagined treatment to be. I was so delighted with the accommodation, the resort, the cuisine and the complementary therapy went way beyond my expectations. I especially enjoyed the excursions that were arranged by the Breathing Space Thailand staff. If there was an excursion I wanted to attend, provision was made and we would go!

I’d never gone elephant riding before or visited a hill tribe or trekked through a tropical jungle to a beautiful waterfall – all of these things were made possible! Spending time on excursions really helped me to learn how to enjoy myself without needing to get high – something I was really terrified of ever being able to do!

My experience at Breathing Space Thailand is one that I will never forget. I was given a CD of pictures from the excursions so I have those memories of my early recovery with me.

Now that I am back in London I’m engaging with the after-care that was provided for me and I have joined a gym and a Pilates class which I really enjoyed whilst I was at Breathing Space Thailand. I feel that I am now finally able to move forward in my life without the hindrance of active addiction although I have learnt and accept that this is very much an on-going process for me.

Thank you to Garrett and all the team at Breathing Space Thailand – you are always in my thoughts.

Breathing Space Thailand is exactly what it says on the tin. A safe environment, overseen by professionals, to give you a moment in your life to take a deep breath. I was given the tools that would assist me on my quest to reach my true potential and the foundation to continue my life’s journey with confidence.

The breathtaking facility, individual attention and five star treatment, go hand in hand with the spiritual beauty of Thailand and her people. If you are lucky enough to be given the opportunity to spend some time at Breathing Space, I would grab it with both hands.

Breathing Space Thailand lives up to its name. Tucked under the mountains of Northern Thailand, Breathing Space was an oasis of recovery, relaxation, one-on-one attention, and daily exercise. It proved to be a beautiful place for regaining focus and getting in-touch with myself after years of substance abuse.

The program, staff and facilities are first rate, allowing privacy as well as personalized attention. I benefited from my sessions with the psychologist, yoga instructor and personal trainer, and wish to continue with these practices when I return home.

Thank you Breathing Space, I hope to return again soon, not as an addict, but as an alumni looking for some fresh air and inspiration.
